What are metallic pigments? Metallic pigments are special effect pigments composed of crushed mica particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments used to create pearlescent and iridescent effects that can be used to mimic the natural look of stone and other minerals. These unique pigments are designed to be blended with 100% solids clear epoxy binders. When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates and eye-catching dramatic color. The shimmering play of light and color created by the pearlescent effects with metallic pigments combined with durability of resinous epoxy create contemporary and edgy pearlescent effects. Glitter flakes are available in two standardized variations based on unique size and shape characteristics, including 0.125” random-cut GLITTER FLAKE and 0.008” hexagonal-cut GLITTER POWDER.

Enhance your next epoxy project by blending random cut GLITTER FLAKE to accentuate a design. Or use GLITTER POWDER to heavily load a clear resin to create a monolithic sparkle surface or disperse small amounts of GLITTER POWDER into a clear topcoat to create a sparkle effect throughout the surface.
